中北书院 has distinguished itself as a national leader in supporting first-generation students. 学院 won top awards at the 2018 学生事务 Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) conference held in Philadelphia.

北中部的 立博体育平台第一—a program for first-generation college students—received the elite Grand Silver Excellence Award and a Gold Excellence Award in a category focused on enrollment management, 定位与支撑.

“It makes me proud to work at an institution that values and prioritizes its student successes. 立博体育平台第一 provides mentoring and support to the 40 percent of North Central students with parents who do not have four-year degrees from a college or university.

More than 400 students participate in 立博体育平台第一. The program begins from their first day on campus and follows them all the way through graduation. 学生 receive guidance and chances to network at events specially designed for first-year students, 二年级的学生, 大三和大四学生, as well as a program for first-generation transfer students.

The program ends with a pinning ceremony the day before commencement. 学生 choose a 教师 member that was influential to their experience at the College to present them a pin.

The annual NASPA conference brings together more than 7,000 student affairs professionals from around the world. Nominations are made through a regional selection process before being submitted for national consideration.
